Very simply, InMyName.org seeks to create the opportunity for a person with means and good intention to give a gift to a deserving recipient, in yet another person’s name. This recipient can be selected by a number of ways:
TARGETED RECIPIENTS
Through collaboration with our affiliates, you (Giver) will be able to search databases and select recipients (Receiver) based on birthday similarities with the loved one you are trying indirectly gift (Benefactor). This search feature can also be used to select a receiver based on other uniquely important events on a specific date of the Givers choice.
GIVER-BENEFACTOR-RECEIVER CHART
I decide to sponsor or send a gift to a child that was born the same day but different years as my friend at work.
Benefactor: My friend will receive a customized certificate that will identify him as a benefactor by virtue of an act of kindness by me the Giver "in the name" of the Benefactor, to the Receiver. This certificate will also contain information about how to establish contact with the Receiver, should the Benefactor choose to.
Giver: As the giver, I also receive a certificate that documents my charitable acts on behalf of the Benefactor to the Receiver. In addition, receipts will be generated if needed for tax purposes, and I will get an information packet about the Receiver based on the practices of the affiliate non profit organization.
Receiver: The child in this case, gets the gift from the Giver in the name of the Benefactor. Unless otherwise indicated, this child will also be given an avenue to communicate directly with both the Giver and the Benefactor.
RANDOM RECIPIENTS
A Giver might decide to give without necessarily tying the act to a specific date or event. In this instance, access will also be provided to a searchable database from which the Giver can make a selection of a qualifying Receiver. As in the above scenario, certificates and other information will be made available to all parties to facilitate recognition, appreciation, and communication.
